N-Acetylneuraminic Acid Dihydrate (also known as sialic acid powder or Neu5Ac) is a naturally occurring amino sugar that is widely distributed in animal tissues and secretions. It is a derivative of neuraminic acid, which is an acidic sugar molecule that is commonly found in cell membranes and glycoproteins.
